Okay, I shouldn't have to reset the router every day to hop on here, but that's what I had to do again today... Not that big of a deal really. Just something that shouldn't have to be done.
Anyway, now that there's visible progress being made on our house I'm going to officially take a leave of absence from here until it's finished and we're moved in. I have no idea just how long that'll be honestly. But I'll pop into the cbox and keep you all posted.
The crew that's going to be building the house is supposed to start sometime after April first. The porch is curing for about a week (they got it poured Wednesday or yesterday, I don't recall which) before they start actually building on the house.

i7.photobucket.com/albums/y276/EvilSlyth/0406121055.jpgProgress!! The photo just shows a little bit of what's been done so far. Last night we went and spoke with the framing crew and they said that by the end of today we'd have steps to the basement... We have a floor! So excited!

Another update... The framing crew has come to an almost total stand-still. A piece of their equipment broke and they've gotta wait until it gets fixed before they can continue. The part to fix it should be to them a bit later this evening so they'll (by their own choices) work on it tomorrow. They're from California so it's not like they're missing out on spending the holiday with their families just because they're working on our house.

UPDATE:
Husband's father is going to be out here from Oregon sometime within the next two weeks... He will be here until sometime after the house is finished. I do not like this guy at all so I'm going to be SUPER stressed until he goes away and leaves us alone again until his next visit... IF he decides to ever come out here again. He's made a rather unfair request of my husband and myself and we're going to have to figure out what to do about it/how to deal with it.. If you're curious as to what the request is PM me and if I think you should know I'll PM you back.
Anyway, it's safe to assume that I will be even more scarce while he is out here than I have been.

Hubby's father is either leaving Oregon for Kansas on Saturday, in the morning, or he'll be here in Kansas on Saturday, in the morning.. When I spoke with him today it sounded to me like he said he'd be here Saturday morning... When hubby spoke with him he led hubby to believe that he was leaving Oregon Saturday morning... Either way, he'll be in Kansas until the house is finished. For the sake of my sanity they'd best finish the house in less than six weeks. He was out here for six weeks last year and I about lost it...

just an FYI... house is coming along slowly, but surely... insulation is done as far as i know. they were supposed to start doing the drywall this morning. my husband's father (he's a spoiled princess.. hubby's father, not hubby) is complaining about the floor squeaking, hubby and i don't care if the floor squeaks.
hubby's father is going to be here until the house is finished at least... it is supposed to be move-in ready by june 1st.. i'm super stressed, having to be polite to human pond-scum isn't easy for me.

Just tell him that you don't mind the things he complains about. And that it's your house, and he doesn't have to stay with you if he's going to complain he doesn't want to.

ah see though, HE'S the one paying for it... not us. it's sort of a "hey, sorry i wasn't able to be in your life for 20 years son." sort of thing.
