November 20, 2595; around 4 pm Coco brooded over her little six egg clutch like she was a big Gold dragon. She didn't know if she liked her children going off to strange people or not. Not that she really had much choice. She wasn't big enough to eat people. She'd tried to eat S'ril before. It didn't work out well. S'ril sat on bottom row of the stands, he had collected bowls of meat, and even refreshments for the people who came to try their hand at one of Coco's new little clutch. He chuckled softly at her sporadic pictures and emotions that she unknowingly assaulted him with. He was used to this, by now. She always got worked up when it was time for the eggs to hatch. And they were ready. All six little fire-lizard eggs were nestled into the Sands of the Hatching Cavern. Coco liked to be a big girl. They were placed close to the wall of the Cavern, and not that far from the stands where S'ril was now. The eggs began to shake and rattle against each other softly. Drith, announce please. I don't need six more fire-lizards.The brown, who was outside almost asleep, rumbled his agreement. Coco was enough. Attention everyone, S'ril's green fire-lizard Coco has a clutch in the Hatching Caverns. Anyone wishing to Impress need come now. Meat and refreshments are supplied! Hurry now!Having a dragon had its perks. S'ril smirked. ***Please note that the fire-lizard profiles are not fleshed out. It is up to each individual that Impresses to take what is given and write up an appearance, and give the personality more depth. There are key points given for each fire-lizard.The Eggs
1. Blue - Impressed to Muir - Onni 2. Green - Impressed to Asta - Rhava 3. Blue - Impressed to Ruteakyra - Tiny 4. Brown - Impressed to Amadahy - Duststorm 5. Green - Impressed to A'lar - Unnamed 6. Green- Impressed to Sulja - Cai

Coco's clutching she hadn't known about until she'd heard about it from Draym. So when Angeth said it was time for the hatching, it was a surprise as to how fast time had gone by. The little white rider had decided to go just to watch, but if one of the firelizard babies decided that it wanted her, then...
Ruteakyra straightened her clothes, her knots more of a grey-white then the colour of Angeth. The white dragon had decided to stay behind, simply because she was tired. It seemed, after all, that growing was so much hard work. Ruteakyra wouldn't know, she wasn't all that tall herself.
Which was probably a good job considering Angeth was tiny, compared to the smallest green.
The little rider made her way to the Sands, making her way up to S'ril, flashing a smile at Coco. "Good luck with your hatching, little one. I'm sure they'll all be fine little babies." Ruteakyra said, taking a seat where she could see without having to kneel up.

Did he mean baby flitterthings, Muir? May we go? Please? I promise I will be good! Natalith nearly bulldozed her rider over in her excitement to see the fire-lizard babies that Drith had spoken of. Her eyes were bright and whirling a rapid mixture of blue and green colors while her body wiggled this way and that. "Okay, you silly girl. We can go see what Coco has for us." Muir giggled and grabbed the broom she had been using. "First, we have to put this away and then we can go." Her own excitement with a boost from Natalith's own feelings stuck a large smile on the weyrling's face as she stowed away the broom and pointed Natalith in the right direction.
HERE WE COME! Natalith bugled as she scampered ahead of Muir, preceding the weyrling through the hallways and telling everyone she met about the flitterthings that were hatching. While there always seemed to be fire-lizard Hatchings occurring, Muir had yet to acquire one. Maybe this was her chance to have one of the cousins of Pern's dragons as a companion. There was no doubt Nata would enjoy having one around. As she arrived at the Hatching Sands, Muir was greeted with an interesting sight.
Natalith was about fifteen feet away from the clutch and stretched out on the warm sand, just staring at the six rocking eggs with amazement. Muir! They are so interesting. How did the little Green have babies? Does this mean I can have babies? She laughed at the dragon's comments. "Before I answer any questions, dear, you need to remember your manners and introduce yourself." The Green turned her gaze to S'ril and Coco with an apologetic expression on her face. Sorry! I am Natalith! And that is Muir! Nice to meet you! She chirped as she named first herself and then her rider.

S'ril smirked at Ruteakyra. "You should get your little weyrling butt down there and get one of those babies." Turning a little, S'ril saw another weyrling and her dragon enter. Baby dragons always made the older brown rider smile. He waved a hand at them and gestured to the eggs. "Just tell Natalith to be careful Muir." With that, he settled back a bit in his seat and watched the action. An egg began to wobble harder. It smacked and cracked a couple of its siblings before freeing from the sands and bursting the side out. A rather large little blue flopped onto the Sands in a heap.
Already, he was screeching like a banshee. Even though his eyes whirled with more blue than red, he continued this method of noise making as he jumped up and shook goo and sand off of his dark blue hide.
Finally, as the blue opened his wings up, he stopped his screeching. It was replaced by a low grumble of sorts. His eyes whirling slowly as he blinked. His head swiveled around and caught sight of his mother. He hopped to her and nipped lovingly at her neck, to which she replied the same way.
Noticing he had an audience though, the blue displayed himself proudly. Letting out high pitched little chirps so that he was sure all eyes were on him before he lept into the air and shot right at Natalith.
Turning at just the last moment, the little blue latched onto Muir's chest. He chirped and yipped at her like a commanding little beast. He wanted food. His needed to feed him, NOW! - 1e01ea - Impressed to Muir Size - Very large for a blue. Personality - Loud. Wants to be the center of attention. Always latching on to random people.

Amadahy was straightening up her room when Emerald suddenly landed on her shoulder. Amadahy's quesion was silenced when she had a sudden, and strangely clear, image of a fire-lizard in the Sands. She nodded, putting the last pillow in place on her bed before leaving. She had her Candidate knots on her shoulders as usual, moving quickly.
She arived just before a little, or rather large, blue hatched. She looked at the other eggs. Five left. It would be iteresting to see who Impressed, even if she herself didn't. Amadahy had her own little companion already. If one of them chose her, she knew she'd be happy. She also knew that she wouldn't be overly disappointed if she didn't Impress. Of course, there was still one other question. How would Emerald react to having to share Amadahy with another fire-lizard?

How could she tell her no? Asta gleefully ran ahead of her mother towards the sands with York chirping excitedly as he flew overhead. It was pointless trying to outrun the tiny bronze to the sands but the girl tried her best. Azariah gave a sigh as she walked behind with Yulth at her side. The blue was still unsure as to why the girl was so excited for a tiny version of a dragon.
"She keeps proclaiming that they are York babies." Azariah chuckled and reached out to pat the confused dragon.
He is loud enough. Do we need more of them?
"If it keeps her quiet about wanting a dragon, I'll let her have twenty."
Yulth grumbled something and watched the younger pair reach the entrance first. Asta ducked inside and was surprised to find that people were here before her. They must have been faster runners than she. York continued right past her and landed on the stairs near Coco. He puffed himself up proudly and chirped a greeting to his little green wonder. It was a nicely sized clutch.
Asta gave a little bow to the green, copying what she saw at the dragon hatching. Who's to say the green didn't deserve the same respect. She practically danced on the sidelines with the rest of the people as the blue hatched and promptly claimed who he wanted. There were five eggs left but more people could still arrive. Asta crouched down to watch the rest of the rocking eggs closer, wondering if any would come home with her.
Azariah's only participation was when she handed her daughter one of the bowls of meat and strode off to sit on one of the lower steps to watch. Yulth dug himself a warm hallow in the sand and watched with curious whirling eyes.

One of the eggs that had been cracked by the first fire-lizard to hatch began to crack more. The shell slowly spider-webbed along its entire visible surface before it gave way to the triumphant little green inside.
Holding her head high in the remnants of her shell, she trilled as if she were far more than a green. It was simply a matter of circumstance that her hide was green! It was her mother's fault, and she screeched at Coco like she was going to murder her.
This little one was supposed to be a GOLD! But no! She had to be born to this lowly green, and thus her hide was green as well!
That was all that would be green! This little one nodded her head to herself. She was a gold. It was just a condition of her hide that made it green. She was the best thing to hatch, ever! And no one was going to tell her different.
That little thing with her sire would know she wasn't a lowly green! And her sire would too! The little hatchling unfurled her damp wings and hop-flew over to her sire, and his little human. A flap of her wings, and the green was up on Asta's shoulder. This little one was now hers too! And she needed to feed her new Queen.
Silly, silly little green.

Ruteakyra grinned at S'ril, before watching a small blue firelizard hatch and Impress to a fellow Weyrling. The little white rider grinned a little more widely, before heading down from the Stands. By the time she was on the Sands, a green had Impressed to a Weyrbrat, and was screeching as imperiously as a Gold might.
Well, that one would be a handful.
With a bowl of meat in hand, Ruteakyra gave a respectful nod to Coco. "Hey little one, you should meet Angeth some time, she's more your size than that giant of a brown Drith." The little girl said. She wondered briefly if S'ril would join them when they left the Weyr if her and Draym could find somewhere good enough. If not, at least she would have a contact within the Weyr she could trust...
Well, anyway, the focus should be on Coco's hatching now. Even though the green wasn't hers, Ruteakyra couldn't help but feel proud of the little flitt. Six Eggs!

A'lar had been in his weyr with Tigath when the announcement sounded, making the rider grin. "A Hatching!" he answered, feeling an excitement rise up from his toes all the way to his head. It was a tingling sensation, and Tigath only snorted at his rider. Truly he was like a little kid for these things, not that Tigath would mention that he himself was much the same. The past dragon hatching had gotten him the quivers, mostly just to see the new Greens. Silly Tigath.
The brown had decided to curl up and sleep some more, they had had a long patrol flight and although both were tired, A'lar was right up and at it with energy again. "I'll be seeing you soon, and with a new friend," A'lar replied with a wave to his dragon.
Tigath just snorted, but a dragon's smile was present for him. A new one would be interesting to have flitting around. Keep him busy when Tigath wasn't monopolizing the Brownrider's time.
Upon arriving he respectfully congratulated Coco on her clutch, and the green seemed very proud the way she guarded it like any Gold would. A'lar gave another greeting this time but it was to S'ril, a big smile on the rider's face before taking his spot. He noticed that Asta was here and with her mother as well as two of the other Weyrlings and one of the few Candidates still left int he Weyr. He watched as the Weyrling woman Impressed a Blue and Asta a Green, but both looked to be quite the handful! The Green with the prominence of a Gold and a very clingy Blue. He loved fire-lizards. They were just like their dragon brothers, but a little but easier to care for he admitted. Standing with a small bowl of meat in his large hands he waited, seeing the rest of the eggs rock.

An egg that had been content to shake lightly started to shudder. It was on the other side of the small clutch, away from that mean old blue that had hatched and cracked some of the other eggs.
This time, the egg simply cleaved in two. Revealed, was a pale, very small, blue. He spread his purplish sky blue wings, shaking some of the goo from his small body. His hide seemed to shimmer, playing tricks on the eye.
The shades of sky blue and blue purple danced on his hide as he blinked his slightly red-blotted eyes. The facets changed color quickly though, to a soft blue as he looked around, eyes whirling. Still, this little creature had made no sound.
Finally, the small hatchling crooned. He hop-walked away from the rest of the eggs, to his mother. He gave her a nuzzle, and then turned his attention to a small girl.
Again, he crooned. Slowly, he made his way over to the girl. He sniffed her foot, scooting back a bit and looking up at her nervously. But this was the one he wanted. He had to be brave, just this once!
He hop-flew up and landed on Ruteakyra's shoulder. Nuzzling her neck, he sent her pictures of the bowl of meat she was holding. He was hungry. His should feed him.
- 5e98cc - Impressed to Ruteakyra Size - Very small for a blue. Personality - Curious. Skittish. Quiet.

Amadahy watched as a second blue hatched and Impressed to the girl with the White dragon. Emerald's paws clutched tightly to her shouldr, then the weight vanished. Amadahy watched as Emerald glided to the ground, landing far enough from the eggs to not be considered a threat, but close enough so she could be seen clearly by the green who guarded the eggs.
A sudden image flashed in Amadahy's mind. It was the clutch, but with Emerald guarding them. Amadahy smiled slightly. It would definitely be interesting to see Emerald with a Clutch. Despite the two years they'd been together, Emerald hadn't Clutched even once. The little flit was fast, even compared to other greens.
Emerald dipped her head to the other Green, crooning softly her congratulations. She then flew back to Amadahy's shoulder. "You're a strange one," Amadahy told Emerald quietly. She was answered by a sharp rap on the back of her neck with Emerald's tail.

A little blue hatched, and Ruteakyra gave a small grin. He was tiny! And he had wonderful purplish markings on his hide that were just so adorable. It was obvious that the hatching had Angeth's attention - some people may have been slightly baffled by the fact the little white was out wandering on her own, but she knew her way. She slinked around and nodded to the clutch mother, just as the blue decided to climb onto Ruteakyra's shoulder.
Carefully, the little girl fed him, an Impression being made that while not as intense as Angeth's had been, was still a wonderful feeling. The little white gave a soft snort. Well, at least he isn't overgrown. Got to keep out little group small you know. Angeth said to Hers, who grinned.
That was true. They were a Trio of Tinys! Ruteakyra grinned, well that solved the naming issue for the blue firelizard. Tiny!

Asta was enthralled by firelizards, if that wasn't obvious by the way she toted her current one around and fawned over. She had been beyond ecstatic when her mother didn't protest to her attending this little hatching either. They were York babies after all! She glanced at her bronze who was seated nearby, practically glowing with pride.
She turned her attention back to the next egg that cracked open. Asta twitched slightly at the loudness of her call. The little green's confidence in her status made the girl laugh. Well if she wasn't the spitting image of her sire in a green costume. Asta spared a glance at the people who were hanging around the eggs and weighed her chances. Suddenly she felt a scrabble of claws and looked at her shoulder in surprise as the tiny green queen made it quite clear she was hers.
A wide smile broke across Asta's face. She reached up and scratched the green under the chin. She was captured in that impression moment until the green began chirping again for food. Oh right! She picked out choice bits of meat from her bowl and began to feed the demanding little thing. With as much grace as she could muster while trying to feed and keep her balanced, Asta moved away from the crowd and back towards her mother. York gave one happy trill before taking off to land on her unoccupied shoulder. Had it not been his, York would probably be fuming around someone else who dared to perch on his girl.
"Look Mom, I got one!" Asta proclaimed, settling down on the emtpy stairs beside her mother. "She think she's a queen, huh?" Azariah commented while Yulth reached out with a tentative nose to sniff the little thing.
"She IS a queen. Now I have the two best firelizards in the entire Weyr." Asta quickly corrected her mother, receiving an equal hum of approval from both little firelizards. She hunkered down and passed some more meat to the hungry little thing. She wanted to see what the rest of the clutch contained before they left.

Coco crooned. Maybe she shouldn't have been so worried! Her babies were going to happy, friendly, nice people! Two eggs started cracking, one was already cracked slightly, the other was opposite this egg. The pre-cracked egg was the first to hatch, but the egg fell over, covering the hatchling in the shell once more. Not a glimpse of color to anyone surrounding and watching. The other egg shook so violently that it rolled away from the other eggs and smacked against the wall. This caused the shell to explode, and a little fire-lizard to be pressed against the wall in surprise.
The little pale creature's eyes whirled around red and orange and yellow. She was surprised that her little body was touching anything but sand. This wall, was it edible? She nibbled at it curiously.
Eww. No, it was not edible. It was nasty! She hissed at the wall, and hopped back from it, tail rigid and in the air behind her as she stared the wall down. She smelled something.
FOOD! The little pale green hopped her entire body around in a circle to land staring right at the bowls of food. She could feed herself, or wait, there were big things here. What were they? People? They would feed her!
She had to find one to feed her. She didn't like big fire-lizards though. Other than her mommy and daddy flit. She saw that a sister of hers had already claimed the small creature that her father rested against. The little green hissed a little. Then, she saw there was a big cousin there, with another person. No, big cousin's could eat her!
Looking around, she saw another little big cousin, hopping away a little skittishly. But wait, if she...what was that?! She hopped around in a circle again, kicking off the ground and jump-flying right into someone's bowl of meat.
Gnawing on a big piece of the meat, the little green crooned and tilted her head to see who she was with. Ohhh, a male person. Well, whether A'lar liked it or not, he had a green fire-lizard now!
- afd6a3 - Impressed to A'lar Size - Mid range for green Personality - Charming. Excitable. ADHD.
The shell covering the other hatched little flit gave a big shake as the little one under it sighed. All this hatching business was hard work. But, the little brown finally pushed off the shell and stood, unfurling his wings. He was only about mid-range in the brown fire-lizard sizes, but he was solid.
He chirped triumphantly before realizing that he was hungry. Shard it. He flopped down back onto his little haunches and stared at the Sands, defeated. This was just sooooooooo much work! All he wanted to do was lay here. And now, after fighting with that shell, he was hungry!
He sniffed the air, smelling the meat. He looked up, eyes whirling as he saw that there were people around. Lazy blues and greens colored his eyes as he rose up and beat his wings, lifting from the ground only a fraction of an inch before flopping back down.
The little brown heaved a sigh. Flying was hard work too. He squeaked and picked himself up, shaking the sand from his body.
The brown decided to walk where he was going. He needed someone to carry him, that was what he needed. He walked to the nearest person, nipping at her leg. He sent her a picture of her picking him up, and feeding him.
Amadahy needed to feed him. Now. He was tired.
- 521e00 - Impressed to Amadahy Size - mid sized brown. Personality - Lazy. Greedy when it comes to food. Protective.

Amadahy laughed quietly and bent down to pick up the little brown. Emerald sniffed at him, then nodded. "Glad to see that you aproove," Amadahy said, lauhing again. She put the brown on her shoulder and went to get a bowl of meat. She fed the little brown carefully, but knew that he wouldn't purposely injure her.
"Now, what should your name be?" Amadahy wondered as she walked back to the others. "It's alright," she told the brown quickly. "I'd just like to see who the last egg Impresses." The brown began eating again, trying his best to keep his teeth away from her fingers. Emerald watched, moving from Amadahy's shoulder to perch on her head. "Emerald, not on my head." Emerald crooned softly, but returned to her pearch on Amadahy's other shoulder. Amadahy stood thinking for a moment before she smiled. "How does Duststorm sound?" she asked the brown. He nodded as he ate, liking the name. "I'm glad. Sandstorm sounded too feminine for a brown such as you."
