Appearance: Whether she likes it or not, Shaelyn stands out in a crowd. First off, she's a tall girl...not abnormally tall, just taller than average for most girls. Everything about her is long and lean. Her arms are long, tipped in long, slender fingers and long, shapely legs that seem to go on forever. Her skin is pale, and freckles splatter lightly across her face. The color of her freckles are so light that they're almost indistinguishable from the normal color of her skin. Her hair is long and a firey red color. It falls down her neck in gentle red waves. The hair frames almost eerily light hazel eyes, eyes that are bright and attention catching and nearly silver in their lightness.
Despite her outward appearance, Shaelyn doesn't walk with much grace. Amazingly clumsy for a girl, she'll often trip over her own feet if she doesn't watch where she's going most of the time. Something she hardly ever does, so as it turns out, she falls...a lot. She actually likes to dress neatly. It isn't to the point of vanity, but she often makes her own clothes...so you never quite know what she's going to be wearing from one day to the next.
Personality: Shae is a bit of a double sided coin. Her main face is sweet and caring. She is a bit of a social butterfly and is never shy about talking to strangers. This is one of those girls who wouldn’t mind entertaining a large group of confidants and friends. She’s just essentially easy to get along with, mellow and laid back most of the time.
Most of the time. It takes a lot to anger the girl, not like walking around on eggshells at all. Instead, when she is angered, her temper is something to be reckoned with. She has no problem spitting out venom and saying just the right things that she knows will hurt her opponent. This probably stems from her bottled up resentment for how her father treated her, but for the poor soul who triggers this in her, it all comes pouring out and hits them in the face. It wouldn’t be odd for Shae to get into a fist fight with someone who has wronged her, and she’ll fight with wild abandon. It might be odd to see this petite little blond fighting, but she can be quite the scrapper when provoked.
All fighting aside, Shae can hold a grudge very easily, and she isn’t exactly soft spoken, so whoever it is will know in no uncertain terms that she finds something wrong with them. Depending on the severity of the infraction, it can be incredibly difficult to get the girl to forgive them. It’s not impossible, though, and can be done.
Despite the fact that she seems to get along with a lot of different people and can have large groups of friends, it takes a lot to really get to know Shae. It isn’t that she’s ashamed of her childhood, she just really does blame herself for the death of her mother and doesn’t look forward to her friends thinking that she’s a murderer, so she has to make absolutely certain that anyone she tells is a true friend and that they aren’t going to judge her or abandon her. She’s extremely paranoid about abandonment, and this is one of the main reasons why it takes a lot for her to let someone in. When they are in though, Shae is an extremely loyal friend; protective and outspoken.
Romantically, Shae just doesn’t know what to do with herself. When she was young, she spent much of her time working, so she never spent too much time around males. She has no idea how to flirt and probably wouldn’t even if she could. She knows when a guy is flirting with her though, but she isn’t big on leading them on. Even so, she’s susceptible to manly charms just like the next girl and boys are the one thing that can make her lose the quiet air of confidence that is surrounding her at all times. If she likes someone, she might not flirt with them, but it’s still glaringly obvious because she’ll be clumsy and awkward and just not herself at all. Eventually, as with all things, Shae will know exactly what she wants in a weyrmate and will not accept anything less than what she deserves.
