 After the destruction of the Red Star and its Thread, Pern was safe. It was not long before Dragons no longer seen as a savior but more of a parasite on the Holds. Two Hundred Turns after the destruction of the Red Star, the Purge began.
Weyrs invaded, eggs shattered, dragons and riders sent fleeing. The Holds refused to help the Weyrs, turning on them with the vile fangs of outrage and scorn. No supplies, no Tithes. Searchdragons were fired on rather then welcomed - eggs died, hatchings lost.
Southern most point a Free Weyr is created; few remaining dragons and their riders strike to rebuild. Evolution takes hold and they learned how to make it without the help of the Holds that they had protected, adapting liked only Dragonriders can.
Now, three hundred turns after the Collision set out to destroy the Weyrs and free Pern's holds from the supposed 'oppression' of serving them, Thread falls on the Northern Holds - casualties mount as the Red Star again dominates the Horizon.
The Question is....Will the riders rise to help Pern, or leave them to die.
